Frequently Asked Questions

❓ How much does it cost?

The average cost per person is $25–$45, depending on the piece you choose. There are no additional studio or firing fees—everything is included in the price of your pottery.

❓ How long does it take?

Most visits last:

  • About 1 hour for younger children
  • 60–120 minutes (or longer) for older kids and adults

You’re welcome to take your time and enjoy the experience.

❓ When can I pick up my piece?

Finished pieces are typically ready for pickup in 7–10 days. During busy or holiday periods, turnaround time may be slightly longer.

❓ Is the pottery food-safe?

Yes! Once glazed and kiln-fired, your pottery becomes food-safe. To extend the life of your piece, we recommend hand washing only and avoiding microwave use.

❓ Do I need a reservation?

Walk-ins are always welcome. Reservations are recommended on weekends and holidays to ensure seating
availability.

❓ Can I paint at home?

Yes! We offer Pottery-To-Go kits that include everything you need.

Please note: only our provided paints can be used, as they are specially formulated for kiln firing.

❓ How does the paint work?

  • Apply 2–3 coats for best results
  • Colors appear dull before firing and become bright and glossy after firing
  • Start with lighter colors and layer darker colors on top

❓ What if I make a mistake?

No problem! Most mistakes can be corrected using a clean, slightly damp sponge.

❓ What should I avoid doing?

Please do not paint the bottom of your piece, as it can stick to the kiln shelf during firing.

❓ Can I bring food or drinks?

Yes! You are welcome to bring snacks, drinks, and BYOB. We also welcome themed gatherings and celebrations.

❓ How long will you hold my finished piece?

We will hold completed pottery for up to 60 days from the date painted. After that, items may be donated or discarded.

❓ Can I host a party here?

Absolutely! We offer private events during dedicated hours when the studio is closed to the public:

  • Saturday:
    6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
  • Sunday:
    9:00 AM – 11:00 AM or 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM

Visit our Events page or contact us to start planning.

❓ I don’t know what to make—can you help?

Of course! We offer step-by-step technique guides in the studio and our staff is always happy to help with ideas and inspiration.

❓ Can I leave and come back?

Yes! You’re welcome to step out and return the same day to finish your piece if needed.

❓ What happens if a piece breaks during firing?

While rare, breakage can occasionally occur during the firing process due to hidden flaws in the pottery. We do our best to minimize this but cannot guarantee against it.

❓ What ages is this for?

Pottery painting is great for all ages!

❓ Do I need to pay when I arrive?

First pick out your piece after you have glazed your piece and hand it in at that time payment is made. We have chosen to be a cashless business.
